3.6.4 International outlook
- Equipment production has increasingly become international as have international backbone operations; access infrastructures, however, are mostly locally bound, while services and content can increasingly be delivered internationally. These developments have already affected and will continue to affect national regulations and the interrelationships between national and international regulations.
- The processes of liberalization and internationalization of communication have led to a decreasing influence of public institutions on international organizations and forums. To the extent this is considered a problem, working for the general improvement of the influence of public institutions in the different kinds of international organizations is important, and one of the ways forward is south-south cooperation between regulators.
