1 Technology Trends

The technological development within ICT can be illustrated in three phases/levels: ‘The first wave of Technological Changes’, which are the fundamental technological changes that ICT has undergone and that has enabled the second phase; called ‘Second waves of Technological Changes’, which are further developments and deployments of the first wave of changes in the ICT industry and market. The ‘Third wave of Technological changes’ goes beyond the ICT industry and covers the broader aspect of application of ICT in the information society services.
